Analyze Peterson Presets

Post by Dennis Detweiler »

I'm going to use my Korg WT10 strobe to analyze some of the cents settings on the presets. I'm just curious why some sound good and others not so good. I'll post some of them. This will take some time, which I'm short of at the moment.

Thanks for finding this. I noticed that all of the presets listed for the strobostomp are not listed here. Maybe not up to date. I used the SH9 Sid Hudson 10 string E9 tonight at a band job and I sounded in tune with myself and with the two guitar players, Hudson's preset cents aren't listed. Now I'm curious to find out using my Korg wt10.

Dennis - Check your e-mail.

There are only two options as I see it.
Either I'm right, or there is a sinister conspiracy to conceal the fact that I'm right.

I'm pretty sure the "revised" Newman tuning (SE9) is just the original one (OE9) with 10 cents added to each string. This made raised the "average" so that the flat notes weren't so flat.
