Adding knee levers
I'm fairly new to pedal steel, and new to the forum. This is my first post - hopefully I'm doing it right.
I starting playing a few months ago on a borrowed Sho-bud LDG. Now I've bought my own guitar, and returned the one I was borrowing. It's an old Sho-Bud Pro I, and it only has 1 knee lever. I'm already finding that I would like to be able to do more changes, and I'm wondering if anyone can point me to somewhere I can buy all the parts I will need to add 3 more knee levers.
Thanks

Yes. Most definitely reach out to Wayne Brown. He also has parts in stock and will be able to help.

Re: Adding knee levers
It is a bit of an expence to add 3 levers and not something recomended trying to do it your self , being new to the instrument.
Maybe send the guitar to Wayne Brown if he is able to do the job for you

Re: Adding knee levers
You can so a lot with just two knee levers.
One to raise the E's and one to lower the E's.
That's just about all I use.

Re: Adding knee levers
Thanks for the tips
I reached out to Wayne and to psg parts. We’ll see where it goes
A related question - my one lever lowers the Es, and is a right-knee-left. From the reading I’ve done, it seems like that’s more commonly a left knee lever. Any pros and cons to the different setups? My initial thought is it makes sense to have the E raise/lower on the right side if those are most commonly used - the left leg is busy enough with just the pedals.

Re: Adding knee levers
E lower on the rt knee is quite common. It’s sort of considered the Sho~Bud way while on Left knee is Emmons. There are advantages to each. Moving the left knee right matches up well with the B pedal and that is one of the most used combinations.

Re: Adding knee levers
Really, having E raises and Lowers is not a big deal. Many players do it. But. Many players have them on the right knee. Why I don't like them on the right knee is, they are used a lot, and it's harder to keep the volume pedal still. Although, after using them enough, you volume pedal technique will become better.
It's all a matter of preference. Place them where YOU think will be best.
