Yeah, a 3rd foot sure would help...I make do with envelope filter (the "Jerry pedal").

But the best, if you must, is the Chi Wah Wah...small, toe-operated, auto on/off just by pressing it or letting go, so minimal impact on ease of use, fits under your guitar nicely. Lots of configurability for tone. Not sure they still are available new but can get on Reverb, or Ebay...a bit pricey, but worth it.

I like the red ones better than the black ones, they supposedly are for bass guitar, but just seem to have a wider range of expression.

Bass stuff seems to work for steel - amps, speakers, FX
I reckon we generate more lower frequencies than you'd think - something to do with difference tones

In the 70s, I used a standard Cry Baby. I set it to the right of my volume pedal. Worked great.

MXR Envelope Filter (I still own an original). No extra foot needed. Just stability in picking attack.

WOW! Thanks for the reply, guys! This is helpful.

Yeah, three feet would help, for sure... I am glad I don't play a U-12 on top of it! :-)

Joe Gold mark has done a number of interesting things with a wah pedal and I think there are songs outside of the Traditional Country Genre that could use a moderate dose of that sound.

THANKS for the feedback!

I used one of those in the 70s to 80s. It had bad tone suck so I only plugged it in with a ¼" to ¼" male adapter and plugged it into my guitar only on songs I needed it. It finally died. I currently use a Sonicake Cry Bot.

Here are a few of tunes Joe Goldmark recorded using the Wah effect...

Pearl of The Quarter - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUno4m3 ... rt_radio=1

Crackerbox Palace - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkdyOj1 ... rt_radio=1

Good Rockin Tonight - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJS2kb2 ... rt_radio=1

Peace,Love and Understanding - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiDiJFz ... rt_radio=1

Any others you can think of?

Used in a tasteful way, I think this effect is underrated and has good applicability to the PSG.
