C6 - Ace in the Hole - chord run

Post by Dean Smith »

Greetings, all...

I am working on this song on the C6 tuning...Key of Bb. I am having a heck of a time finding the full chords for the chromatic chord run during the lyrics "Don't put it all on the line for just one roll".

I am having good success with the rest of the song, I am just stuck. I just can't find a suitable combination to get full sounding chords for a big sound. Can someone get me there? I will transpose if you have it in another key.

I think I have done a diligent search but had not luck, so I apologize if l did miss it somewhere. Many thanks for your time in advance!

I was obviously overthinking this little chord run...it was simple and I tried to make it something more than it is.

Right now (key of Bb), I start at open IV (3rd fret) and walk up to V (5th fret) and then move up to 1 (10th fret) and a couple of small moves after that. I have tried it with various string groups. I think I have been woodshedding too long. Sorry for the weak post. I didn't delete the post so others might find a use.

My best to all!
